The death of Barbara Anna Belle Johnston (née Partridge), in her 90th year, occurred peacefully on January 28, 2022, at Andrew's of Stratford, her home for the last four years.
Anna was a proud graduate of the PEI Hospital School of Nursing and enjoyed the lasting friendships of her classmates and their annual reunions. While her husband Jack enjoyed his many years as an active member of the Kinsmen Club, Anna too enjoyed her regular get togethers with the Kinettes for many decades. Both Anna and Jack enjoyed their summers at the family cottage in Stanhope with their summer cottage friends, and winter holidays together, in the warmth of the Florida sun.
Anna and her late husband Jack W. Johnston were the proud parents of Lynn, Bruce (Lori), Karen (Scott) Bruyea, and Brian (Lisa) and subsequently the proud grandparents of Taylor, Braden, Cory, Candice, Brittany, Emma, and Adam. Anna was also great-grandmother to seven wonderful great-grandchildren.
Anna will be sadly missed by Jack's siblings: Esther (the late Guy) Stewart, Allan (Val MacLean, and the late Barbara), and Barbara (James) Macnutt and will be remembered fondly by her many nieces and nephews here in PEI and also in NS, Western Canada, and the USA.
Anna was predeceased by her parents Harold and Adelaide (Sampel) Partridge and her siblings: Roger, Gail, Joyce, and Brenton, as well as by her mother-in-law Jessie Johnston.
Anna's family extends a sincere thank you to the wonderful staff at Andrew's of Stratford for their warmth, professionalism, kindness, humour, and the excellent care she received.
A special thanks to caregivers Mavis Paynter and Sheila Stapleton who provided friendship and care to Anna while she lived at home.
Resting at MacLean Funeral Home Swan Chapel. A graveside service will be held at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens at a later date. If so desired, memorial donations to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation would be appreciated. Online condolences may be made at www.macleanfh.com
