It is with profound sadness, but at the same time, with so much love and gratitude for the beautiful life that she lived, that we announce the passing on October 28, 2026, of our beautiful mother Judy Elizabeth (Spindler) Allen, affectionately known as The Warden.
Judy was born July 24, 1942, daughter of the late Nelson & Phyllis (Creaser) Spindler, in the small fishing village of Riverport, NS. She met the love of her life, Sidney Allison (Al) Allen in 1962, and they married shortly thereafter and raised two children.
Besides her parents, Judy was predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, Al, and her stepfather, Capt. Cecil Ritcey of Riverport, NS. She leaves behind her two children, Chris (Lynn) Allen, Stratford, PEI and Cheryl Allen, Charlottetown, PEI. Also her three grandchildren Jessica Allen, Brianna (Michael) Allen, Robert (Karen) MacLean all of Charlottetown and one great grandson Jacob Allen MacLean. Survived by her brother Robert (Ann) Spindler of Halifax, NS, sister-in-law Marilyn MacKinnon of Liverpool, NS, step-siblings Karen (Brian) Lowery, NS, Tom Ritcey, NS, Hugh Ritcey, Toronto and Bert Ritcey, Ottawa; also special friend Lew Livingston and his family of Stratford, PEI.
Our mother was truly blessed to have so many wonderful friends in her life, in particular Michael & Angela Bird and Joe & Leah MacKinnon. She cherished all the times spent with you. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mom's wonderful neighbors Belinda Montigny and Joan & Graham Davidson who were always there for her and looking out for her well being, your friendship and support meant the world to her. Special thanks to Dr. Hooley, an outstanding doctor but also one who truly cares about you, not only as a patient, but also as a person.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the MacLean Funeral Home Swan Chapel, Charlottetown, PEI. There will be no visitation or funeral service as per Judy's wishes.

It is with sadness that the family of David Wesley Fram, age 85, of Charlottetown, announces his passing on October 27, 2026, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital after a courageous battle with ALS.
David was born in Windsor, Nova Scotia, the youngest of three children of Jack and Peg Fram. He began his professional career in real estate, founding Balmoral Realty in Halifax, and eventually working for the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.
David was passionate about motorsports and car racing. In 2008 he was inducted into the Maritime Motorsports Hall of Fame, under the Competitor/Builder Category, in part for his efforts, along with a handful of like-minded businessman racers who came together in the early 70’s to help raise funds to build Atlantic Motorsport Park in Shubenacadie, NS. While David had many notable accomplishments competing as a Formula Atlantic driver at AMP, his favorite achievement was winning the 1971 CASC National C Sedan Championship at Westwood, BC while driving a Mini Cooper S.
As an avid salmon fisherman, David had a deep and enduring love for the Margaree area in Cape Breton, especially the people and the river. Rossvale, the fishing camp he and Bertha built together, became a gathering place for family and friends and will forever hold a special place in their hearts. The river, the camps, and the friendships forged along its banks were central to David’s life. He enjoyed tying flies, sharing fishing stories, and passing along his knowledge and love of fishing to others, particularly his grandsons whom he taught to fly fish on Lake O’Law Brook.
David believed deeply in the restorative power of nature. He cared deeply about the conservation of wild Atlantic salmon and the protection of the woods and waterways he cherished. As the founding president of the PEI Salmon Federation and a supporter of the Margaree Salmon Association, he devoted considerable time and energy to conservation efforts. He was also involved in the restoration of Lake O’Law Brook, working alongside at-risk youth to help preserve and restore salmon habitat for future generations.
Beyond the river, David enjoyed playing guitar, watching the Charlottetown Islanders hockey team, serving as a volunteer bench boss, and cheering on his beloved New York Yankees.
David will be greatly missed by his wife of 39 years, Bertha (Frizzell, née Birch); his children, Jill (Ron) Lacey and Jay (Marnie); his stepsons, David (Peggy) and Steven Frizzell; his grandsons, Will Lacey and Noah Frizzell; sister-in-law Audrey Fram, and step-daughter-in-law Bernadette Praught. David was predeceased by his brother Ken, sister Joan, and stepson Gary Frizzell. He also leaves behind many cherished friends and fellow salmon fishers throughout Atlantic Canada and New England.
The family extends a special thank you to the medical teams at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for their excellent care of David.
Cremation has taken place and, in keeping with David’s wishes, no visitation or funeral service will be held. At a later date, family will gather in his beloved Margaree, Cape Breton, to honour his memory and scatter his ashes. If so desired, memorial donations may be made directly to the ALS Society of PEI or the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation. Online condolences may be made at www.macleanfh.com
