It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Audrey Jean Wigginton (nee Bevan) on Friday, January 19, 2024 at the age of 81. Audrey was born and raised in Parkdale to Roy and Kay Bevan. In 1959, she met and later married the man of her dreams, Merrill Wigginton, and they shared 59 wonderful, happy years together. In 1974, she graduated with a degree in Sociology from the University of Prince Edward Island. Audrey was a caring and loving mother to Kevin Wigginton (Stephanie) and Karla Gimby (Andrew). She was her children’s biggest cheerleader and greatest supporter. She never missed a swim meet and was always quick with a study snack to feed their minds. Her greatest pride and ultimate joy, however, were her grandchildren - Lorne and Rachel Wigginton, and Katelyn and Cole Gimby. Audrey amazingly kept track of each and every test, sporting event, activity and travel. She never missed wishing good luck or safe travels as her four grandchildren went about setting the world on fire. Audrey is survived by her sister, Shirley Bevan, and brothers Hal Bevan (Janet), Roger Bevan (Susan) and Wayne Bevan (Geraldine) and many nieces and nephews. Audrey was active in her community and church and will be greatly missed by her neighbours and many friends.

Hand and hand with the love of his life, on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at Palliative Care Center, Robert Noel Ferguson’s fight for life came to an end. Surrounded by his dearest gifts, wife Dana and their children, Robert left this earth accompanied by the brightest lights in his life. A sincere thank you to the compassionate staff at the PEI Cancer Treatment Center and Palliative Care Center for going above and beyond to make not only Robert, but his loved ones as comfortable as possible through this unfortunate journey.
Robert was the beloved soulmate of Dana Affleck. Loving father of Chad Ferguson (Kelly), Brett Ferguson (Brooke), Danielle Hassell (Brandon), Brandon Kok, Erica Kok and Chantal Kok. Dear grampy of Leo, Amiya and Drayson, who he will continue to love and guide as they grow. Survived by his sister Julie Ferguson, brother Todd Ferguson (Sandra), mother Katherine “Kaye” Ferguson and parents-in-law Marion (Stanley) Affleck. Predeceased by father Harrison “Fergie” Noel Ferguson and father-in-law Derrell “Debbie” Affleck. His loyal companion Mali will keep his recliner warm.
Robert watched his last Saturday Hockey Night in Canada with some of his favorite people, something he spent many, many nights doing throughout his life. One more Leafs win for him to hear his loved ones cheers brought him peace.
As an advertising guru for over 35 years, Robert had a talent of finding a way with words. But for some things, words can only explain so much – Robert is an example of that. It is hard to find the words to describe how special of a man he was. His tender nature, insightful guidance along with his quick-wit, will be greatly missed by those who were lucky to know him. There is comfort in knowing his body and mind are at ease.
Resting at MacLean Funeral Home Swan Chapel from where a private service will be held for immediate family and friends on Thursday. A gathering to celebrate the life of Robert will be held at Fox Meadow Golf Course on Saturday from 2:00-5:00 p.m. We invite family and friends to join and share their fondest memories of Robert. If so desired, memorial donations may be made directly to the Provincial Palliative Care Center. Online condolences may be made at www.macleanfh.com

At the age of 98, after a battle with dementia, it is with sadness that we announce the passing of Anna MacEwen Moreside on Sunday, December 24, 2023. Born in Stanley Bridge, PE, on April 20, 1925, she was the daughter of Ernest and Euphemia MacEwen. She met and fell in love with her late husband, Lloyd Blaine Moreside (May 7, 1933-Dec 14, 2000) and they got married on November 16, 1963. Predeceased by her brothers George and Walter and sister Vivian (Rennehan). Survived by daughters Kathy Moreside and Karen Nieuwhof (Marten); grandchildren Nicolle and Jason; brother Sutherland; sister-in-law Shirley (Moreside) Young and brother-in-law Floyd Moreside; and many nieces and nephews.
Anna was a Corporal in the Army for WWII (April 1944-July 1946). She did her Basic Training #3 C.W.A.C. in Kitchener, ON then worked for the Department of National Defense: Glebe Barracks #1, Ottawa ON (which she referred to as ‘The Battle of Ottawa’). She was an office secretary that typed telegrams of injured and dead and researched whereabouts of missing soldiers.
On her return to PEI, Anna attended Prince of Wales and subsequently worked at the H. L. Sear Insurance office until she married and started her family and became a professional stay-at-home mom. Anna was very involved with her church family at Central Christian Church in Charlottetown. She was an active member of her beloved Akita Club, Sunday School teacher, VBS worker, committee member, and Deaconess. Anna was always helping by donating food (well known for her ham sandwiches, fudge squares and scotch cookies), and being ‘the driver’.
The family would like to acknowledge, with deep appreciation, the many expressions of love, concern and kindness during Mom’s battle with Dementia and during this time of sorrow. Many thanks to the staff of Atlantic Baptist Nursing Home for their wonderful care and compassion.
Resting at MacLean Funeral Home Swan Chapel. Visitation Thursday at Central Christian Church from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. No funeral by personal request.
