Patricia Renfrew Preston passed peacefully on Monday, October 13, 2025, with loved ones by her side. Lovingly remembered by her sister Peggy Holland Williams, nieces Susan Holland; Bethany Holland and her daughters Hannah (Cameron), Grace (Jarett), and Maeve; and Mary (Les) Holland Bonnett and their sons Pearson (Leighton) and Nicholas; and special great-grandniece Luna. She will be dearly missed by her longtime friend Mary-Jane Younis. Patricia was a lover of animals and is survived by special furry family, Fanny Patricia, Frankie, and Lily. Predeceased by her partner Aggey Vakselis and parents Richard and Olga (Rogers) Preston.
Born in New York City on August 2, 1937, and raised in the city of Summerside. Patricia was the first Lobster Carnival Queen. She left PEI to study nursing at the Montreal General Hospital, graduating in 1959. She was a member of the team for the first cardiac catheterization surgery at the Jewish General Hospital. After her nursing career, she supported her partner in his endeavours. She returned to PEI in 2011.
She was an ardent lover of the Montreal Canadiens over the years.
A very special sister, aunt, and friend - Patricia will be dearly missed.
Resting at MacLean Funeral Home Swan Chapel from where a private funeral will be held on Friday. Interment to follow in St. Peter’s Anglican Cemetery. No visitation by personal request. Online condolences may be made at www.macleanfh.com
