The death occurred peacefully at the Garden Home with family by his side, of Charles Richard “Ritchie” Johnston, of Charlottetown formerly of Kinkora, age 84 years. Brother of Mary “Jeanette” Murphy, uncle of Lorelei (Kent) MacArthur, Marla (John) Smallwood, Bethany-Jayne (Joe) Parsons and great-uncle of Malone, Murphy, Jeana-Beth MacArthur, Marleigh-Jayne and Elly Smallwood. Survived by special friend Des Duffy and former brother-in-law Harold Murphy. Predeceased by his parents Sebinus and Mary (Greenan) Johnston.
The family extends special thanks to all the staff of the Garden Home and Tenderwood Lodge.
Resting at MacLean Funeral Home Swan Chapel. Funeral Monday from St. Malachy’s Roman Catholic Church, Kinkora at 11:00 a.m. (by invitation only). Interment in the church cemetery. Visiting hours Monday at the church from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. (vax pass and i.d. required).
