It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Janet Louise Bevan on Friday, November 7, 2025, while surrounded by family at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. She was 80 years of age.
Raised in Sherwood, Janet was a devoted and loving wife to Hal Bevan. Caring and dedicated mother to Warren, Charlotte and Quentin. Proud grandmother to Marshall, Connor, Rio, Cruz and Jace.
Janet will be remembered and missed by her siblings Arleen (Butch McGee) Harris, Ken (Marilyn) Roper and Karen (Barry) MacKinnon, whom she all loved dearly. Janet is also survived by her extended family Roger (Susan) Bevan, Shirley Bevan, Wayne (Geraldine) Bevan, Merrill Wigginton, Laura Sinclair Bevan and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents Arnold and Ruth (Moore) Roper and parents-in-law Roy and Kathleen (Higgins) Bevan. Also predeceased by her sister-in-law Audrey Wigginton (Bevan). Janet also had two beloved aunts who held a very special place in her heart, Ruby (Brenton) Allen and Helen Roper.
Hal and Janet shared 59 wonderful years of marriage. They shared a passion for travel, exploring destinations around the globe, with Palm Springs, California holding a special place in their hearts. Janet had a deep appreciation for the natural world, finding joy in the delicate beauty of flowers and the vibrant energy of hummingbirds.
Janet was a smart, clever, sweet and classy lady. She enjoyed spending time at home with her husband and family more than anything. She dedicated her life to creating a warm and nurturing home filled with love. She could be found cheering on her grandchildren from the sidelines at their various sporting activities.
Mom had many special memories from her ‘sisters days’ going for lunch and enjoying shopping afterwards. She belonged to many groups over the years including china painting, cards and her investment group. She also had many other dear friends whom she cherished.
Her kindness, warmth, unwavering love and support will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
