The passing of Joan Lunn, Charlottetown, PEI, formerly of Perth-Andover and Fredericton, NB occurred at the Provincial Palliative Care Centre on December 30, 2024.
Joan was the loving wife of the late Alden Lunn; mother of Kim (John Lennon) and Jan (Mitchell Zelman); grandmother of Emily (Shaun), Mallory (Justin) and Wesley (Allison) Lennon and Kaleb (Kate) and Jacob (Maggie) Zelman; great grandmother to Audrey, Sophie, Phoebe, Gwyneth, Ellia and Jack. Joan is survived by dear friends, numerous nieces and nephews.
Joan was a proud graduate of the nursing program at Saint John General Hospital and had a long and varied career in nursing. Jan and Kim frequently hear from former patients and colleagues about the positive impact she had on their lives.
Joan and Alden set a wonderful example for all of us. Demonstrating love and respect for one another for more than 58 years. They were known for their love of being in nature, dancing, hosting dinner parties and enjoying life.
Joan (a.k.a. The Lupin Lady) spent her “leisure time” gardening, pickling, camping, fishing, picking fiddleheads and wild berries. Joan’s pies were legendary and we all had our favourites. Joan was an avid golfer, who was very proud of having scored more than one “hole in one”. Her grandson Jacob even got her out on the course this past September at the age of 90!
Joan was extremely proud of all of her grandchildren and enjoyed a special bond with each of them. She lit up whenever mention was made of any of her six great-grandchildren, enjoying their visits on PEI this past year with all but the newest, Baby Jack Alden.
Joan was known for her warmth, kindness and positive attitude as well as her keen sense of adventure. She loved cross country skiing, took up kayaking in her late 60’s, and was still on the Boogie board last summer at the age of 90! She relished making new friends on the Victoria Park Boardwalk during her daily walks.
At Joan’s request, there will be no visitation or services. The family would like to thank the following individuals for their exemplary, compassionate care throughout her illness: Drs. Jason Thompson and Krista Cassell, physicians and staff of the Provincial Palliative Care Centre, staff of the PEI Cancer Treatment Center, and the PEI Homecare and Integrated Palliative Care nursing team for their incredible kindness and support.
In memory of Joan, we would ask you to perform an act of kindness or enjoy a walk in nature.

It is with great sadness we announce the sudden death of Patrick Charles Corrigan at his home in Pleasant Grove on Thursday, January 2, 2025, age 71 years. He will be forever loved and missed by his wife Juanita (Murphy), two daughters Dina (Shayne Gosse) and Rae-anne, and beloved fur baby, Morgan. He will be lovingly remembered by his siblings David (Anne MacLean), Margie (Buck Watts), Paula (Gerard Murnaghan), Ed (Betty), Reta, Cathy, Elayne (Bob Kirkwood), Bernie (Mike MacDonald), Janet Jones, Joe (Sherri Hogan), Barbie (Scott Lacey), siblings-in-law Dale Murphy (Kim), Blaine Murphy (Anita), Cynthia Fairweather, and Linda Corrigan, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents Herbie and Lalie Corrigan, parents-in-law John “Jack” and Doris “Dot” Murphy, siblings Deanna, Theresa and Herbie (Paula), and brother-in-law Lowell Jones.
Pat adored his wife and girls, his special friends John and Sherry MacLeod, Greg and Diane McMasters, Danny and Lorraine Smith, and his best buddy Morgan.
Pat’s passion for his family and friends touched all who knew him. He poured his heart and soul into every corner of his property, turning it into a sanctuary, not just for himself, but for his family and all who were fortunate enough to visit.
Pat was loved by everyone. Everyone around him seemed drawn in and ready for a laugh – and he never disappointed. From him you learned that you don’t need to be the loudest to be the funniest. He could interject quietly with the most perfect, witty remark and leave the whole room in tears of laughter.
Pat and Juanita, along with their daughter Rae-anne, proudly owned and operated Corrigan’s Centre since 1976.
There will be a celebration of life, Saturday, January 18, 2025, from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Jack Blanchard Hall (7 Pond Street, Charlottetown). Donations may be made directly to the PEI Humane Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Online condolences may be made at www.macleanfh.com
